Superwoman Lesley
It was a quiet week for races this week but Lesley Heyes more than made up for that with an impressive 12:35:55 representing Rivington Tri Club in the Hamburg Ironman on Sunday. Massive congratulations to two-time Ironman Lesley!
Over in Canada, Andrew Giles was at it again in the 5 Peaks Whitemud Sport sandwiched in between volunteer course marking and tidying duties. He was accompanied by RRC402 Erin Giles.
With so few races about over the Jubilee weekend it was left for Connor Barrett to challenge himself in style. Connor raced to a marathon distance PB (and on his birthday too!) on a hilly local course with support from Hannah Chick and Alice Bernstein.
parkrun
We had runners at 25 parkruns on the jubilee weekend, which must be something of a record.
Locally, Alexander Shield was the first Ram home in Bolton with Nidya Arun Kumar our first female.
Ness Lobb coached regular junior parkrunner Caitlin around Worsley Woods and Andrew Hill was first Ram to finish at Heaton Park.
Also at Heaton Park, we had Andrea Sidebottom who didn’t have a thing to wear.
In the club championships anytime parkruns, Sarah Sutcliffe and Paula Pilling ran at Peel with Paula finishing first female. If you are interested in how your time here is currently scoring in the club champs, then this link will help.
At Burnley a right old crew supported by Large Marge saw Helen Binns finish as the 4th female.
As expected on a holiday weekend Rams popped up all over the place this week.
The longest travellers must have been Richard Thatcher and Sarah Clarke at Lews Castle in Stornoway while back on the mainland Lianne and Lee Troughton were down in Itchen.
Issy Urquhart was our only Ram at Ashton Court. Other solo runners included Di Rylance at Hamsterley Forest, Katie Lougheed at York, Paul Jenkins in Hyde and David Brennan at Sheringham, Eve Hart -Penrith, Julia Martin-Dolgellau, Cecilia Woods-Victoria Dock, Adrian Booth-Ruthin and Sarah McGrath at Sandhurst.
Sacha Fox who should have been resting before a trip along the Cleveland Way couldn’t resist a pop at the Dalby Forest parkrun.
One second separated Rowan and Amy Ardill at Henley Wood parkrun in Oswestry but there was no such arrangement at Conningham Hall where romance was dead with Steve Marsden finishing six minutes ahead of Jane Emmanuel.

Just a further reminder that there are two races in the fell championships this week ahead: Two lads Fell Race on Thursday and Knowl Hill Fell race on Sunday.
