Hi Clare, tell us... what do you do for a living?

Media production for corporate and public service clients

How and why did you first get involved with RRC?

I started the Couch to 5K and saw posters for the club, I would see groups of people running past my house and wanted in on the fun. I felt I would get more out of running if I had the company and support of others.

What is your favourite running memory or moment?

By far it was 'accidentally' running a marathon. I say running, there was a cake break in the middle and about 3 miles were walked, but on a training run, thanks to several Garmin fails I clocked up 26.4 miles rather than the 22 I had planned in preparation for the Manchester Marathon!

Tell us something about yourself that might surprise us....

I am actually a qualified teacher and a paper artist though I don't get to create much these days as all my spare time is dedicated to running, preparing for a run or recovering from a run!

Who would be your 4 fantasy dinner guests (dead or alive)?

Oooh this often changes. Any of the Beatles except Ringo, he's gone weird. Our Queen, Old Kirk Christensen (Mr Lego) and Matthew McConaughey.

What is you pre-race routine?

Prepare kit and snacks, eat pasta night before, electrolyte in the water and early night, early get up, porridge and pray to the toilet gods. Check I've locked the door, check it again, try to fend off the nerves, have a little cry then give my head a wobble.

OK on to the quick-fire round!

Favourite book?

Alice in Wonderland

Favourite film?

Star Wars

Favourite band?

The Beatles

Favourite parkrun?

Ramsbottom junior parkrun

Who is your running hero?

Too many to mention all, my friends Sarah and Kathryn were instrumental in getting me started and continue to motivate. Bev and Emma from the club have been exceedingly patient and accommodating on long runs with me. Eve I admire your determination, how you achieve your exceptional goals all while managing a fancy pants job and a gorgeous family, volunteering at club, juniors and junior parkrun! And many many more I have met on my running journey so far!

What would you choose as your Mastermind specialist subject?

I'm more of a random bits of nonsense, I'm good on the general knowledge rounds but if I had to sit in the hot seat, I know more than I should about Peppa Pig and Thomas the Tank Engine and more recently, dinosaurs.

You are self isolating and can only have one of these for the next 14 days, which are you choosing?
