Hi Emma, tell us what you do for a living?

I’m a Student but I'm also a Youth MP for Bury and an Environmental Activist!
How and why did you first get involved with RRC?

I first got involved in RRC when it started. I was 12 years old and went along with my Dad. At that point running wasn't a passion of mine and I didn't for one second think it would become my future hobby. Fast forward to when I turned 15 (and I was finally able to join on my own and run 10km races) I couldn't wait to join and running is now one of my favourite ways to de-stress and be part of a team.

What is your favourite running memory or moment?

When I ran the Manchester 10k for the first time in 2019. I have grown up seeing my Dad run it 3 times and (when I eventually fell in love with running) I couldn't wait to try it myself. It was something I never imagined myself being able to do.

Tell us something about yourself that might surprise us...

I have been to over 30 festivals and I went to my first when I was just 4!

Who would be your 4 fantasy dinner guests (dead or alive)?

Emmeline Pankhurst, Malala Yousafzai, Nelson Mandela and Rosa Parks. They have all managed to change the world for the better in INCREDIBLE ways.

What is your pre-race routine?

Get up (usually with very little time to spare before getting picked up - thanks everyone for the car shares!) Throw on my RRC top and some leggings. Brush my teeth. Grab a banana or 2 and then I am good to go. I like keeping it easy!

OK onto the quick-fire round…

Favourite book?

The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

Favourite film?

Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Favourite band?

Not a band but - Lewis Capaldi or Lizzo

Favourite parkrun?

Centre Vale - The second one I did on New Years Day this year as the sun was rising, it was absolutely beautiful.

Who is your running hero?

All of the incredible RRC people who run crazy distances and make me believe that one day I can too.

What would you choose as your Mastermind specialist subject?

Climate activism or politics

You are in lockdown and can only eat one thing for the next 21 days, what are you having?

Vegan 5 bean chilli, no question about it.
